The CranioSacral System of the body is a physiological system composed of the cerebrospinal fluid and membranes surrounding the brain and the spinal cord (the central nervous system), as well as the attached bones (cranium, face, vertebral column and pelvis), sutures and vessels.
Like the movement of the breath or the cardiac pulse, the motion of the cerebrospinal fluid can be felt anywhere on the body with a developed and trained touch. Restrictions are released from the core, and because structure and function of the body are interrelated, enhancing the performance of the nervous system consequently improves the overall health.
Using a light touch, CST helps release the imprint of physical, psychological and emotional stress, and helps to break long held tension patterns.
WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
CranioSacral Therapy is a unique experience.
Most people feel an immediate sense of deep relaxation and come out of a session feeling recentered and refreshed. The experience is different for each person, for each session and the response ranges from “I didn’t feel much” to “I feel much more balanced” to “It was very powerful”.
A vast majority of people feel better after being treated with CST as it alleviates their pain (physical or emotional), decreases their stress and most often resolves the issue they came with at first.
WHAT CAN IT HELP?
Stress and Tension Related Disorders – Migraines and Headaches – TMJ Syndrome – Chronic Neck and Back Pain – Tinnitus – Chronic Fatigue – Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder – Concussion – Depression – ADD/ADHD – Central Nervous System Disorder – Other conditions
WHAT IS A SESSION LIKE?
A typical CranioSacral therapy session lasts about one hour. The patient is lying down on a massage table, fully clothed. Using a light touch, the therapist will assess and treat the restricted areas found in the body.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL YOU NEED?
The treatment plan is unique for each person.
Some conditions might appear to be the same for some people, but the response to CranioSacral Therapy changes from one individual to another. Every treatment is individually customized.
